EFF members dismantles Horse Memorial
A group of about 30 men suspected to be members of the EFF dismantled the Horse Memorial where Cape Road meets Russell Road in Port Elizabeth on Monday (06/04/15).
Police were quick to respond but only arrived at the scene after the statue, erected in memory of animals that died during the Boer War, was damaged.
Police are searching for the suspects.
This comes after three men, believed to be affiliated to the EFF, attempted to burn a war memorial statue situated in Uitenhage’s market square on Thursday.

_______________________________________________________Port Elizabeth’s Queen Victoria statue vandalised
The statue of Queen Victoria, which stands in front of the public library in Port Elizabeth, has become the latest in a series of South African statues to be vandalised.
The statue was seen covered in green paint on Friday morning (10/04/15).
Several statues have been vandalised across the country this week including the Horse memorial in Port Elizabeth and an Anglo-Boer War memorial in Uitenhage.
The EFF has distanced itself from this specific case of vandalism. A party spokesman said they were not behind the green paint splashed on the statue.
